Is it true? It appears that the unthinkable occurred, a new Star Trek movie will bring the franchise back from the brink of oblivion. After Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Nemesis did not fire at the box office, Star Trek: Voyager under fire from fans during his last years and the Enterprise prequel retained after four seasons, seemed as if the Star Trek franchise was ready to go. After a most respected and long-running franchises kind in the history (only behind by Doctor Who), lost fans, skill and care in large quantities. With the company if the next generation movies now out of their study contracts and you run out of ideas for the series, the only way forward was to start again.

The concept of a prequel movie began circulating as Company soon as the series went off the air. The main idea was a Starfleet Academy movie with the early years of Kirk and Spock and other original characters from Star Trek. This was not simply an attempt cynical in a final round of the franchise, was a bold reinvention of a new generation. With a cast yet ripe for surprises, Chris Pine, Captain James Kirk, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Karl Urban as McCoy, and so on. Star Trek legend gigantic TV, movies, merchandising, comics, books and more, this is another chance and this time seems to be much more effective than attempts in recent years. The legend is back with new powerful actors, a new history channel, and a production that surpasses anything that has happened before. While fans can keep an open mind to watch the film, then this may be the beginning of a new generation real "to the legend that is Star Trek.'s Mythos in good hands that are in process of creation of Roddenberry in this regard, while creating something new, vital and beautiful source of inspiration. What Star Trek Season One episodes are more like an introduction to Star Trek?

I have a friend who has never seen Star Trek and to prepare for the next movie I want to show some episodes of the original series. I have the remastered first season, I'm trying to decide what to display. What would better? I could show you three or four.

Wow! Difficult. I must say that the City on the Edge of Forever is a must. After that, I would say Balance of Terror (as it probably will be more like the movie, The Galileo Seven (a great understanding of the characters and strange in a season with great Scotty) and then I think "Devil in the Dark "The 3 points mentioned above by Marc are irrelevant and does not mention the series itself. I would say that one, I would avoid are Charlie X, menagerie, a court martial, Miri, The Man Trap, The Enemy Within, the conscience of the king. I was too negative "where no man has gone before", but it might be interesting because it is one of the first and Spock is very emotional, but this depends on how it is played in the film. I would avoid "Mudd's Women" since episodes comedians are probably not the correct way of introduction.
