Is it true? It appears that the unthinkable occurred, a new Star Trek movie will bring the franchise back from the brink of oblivion. After Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Nemesis did not fire at the box office, Star Trek: Voyager under fire from fans during his last years and the Enterprise prequel retained after four seasons, seemed as if the Star Trek franchise was ready to go. After a most respected and long-running franchises kind in the history (only behind by Doctor Who), lost fans, skill and care in large quantities. With the company if the next generation movies now out of their study contracts and you run out of ideas for the series, the only way forward was to start again.
The concept of a prequel movie began circulating as Company soon as the series went off the air. The main idea was a Starfleet Academy movie with the early years of Kirk and Spock and other original characters from Star Trek. This rumor turned out to be closer to the truth that the public might imagine. JJ Abrams, Alias, Lost and Cloverfield fame (among everything else that has been involved with) has been chosen to bring Star Trek into the modern era. The original series was turned into a totally new Paramount film, with distribution of all the 1960 new play these iconic roles. That something was sent through the stirring fan communities. How these functions can be performed by someone other than of their stars of origin? The characters of Kirk, Spock, McCoy and everyone else in the crew of origin have become the cultural pillars as this was seen as nothing sacrilegious.
But as news filtered through casting for the new movie (titled simply "Star Trek Pictures, not Star Trek or otherwise) and Spy shows an overview of design work, many fans began to wonder if it really could be something very special. With the cast of Heroes star Zachary Quinto as Spock, it became clear that the creators of this new vision of the legendary sci-fi spectacle of Gene Roddenberry if taken seriously. This was not simply an attempt cynical in a final round of the franchise, was a bold reinvention of a new generation. With a cast yet ripe for surprises, Chris Pine, Captain James Kirk, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Karl Urban as McCoy, and so on. The faces and talents perfectly, and the first trailer, fans had something real to show that they was really going on. Star Trek back and do it with style.
Plot-wise, is a story of time travel, the Star Trek universe has been known since the beginning. The scope of this production came with the news the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, would resume his famous role and interact with his younger self, to help combat the effects this ugly film, Nero (played by Eric Bana) has organized. As the projected increase of the photos and details filtered through history in the public domain, steadily, and here we are at a point where fans are still skeptical to some extent, but are very excited to see his beloved voting reborn.
Star Trek legend gigantic TV, movies, merchandising, comics, books and more, this is another chance and this time seems to be much more effective than attempts in recent years. The legend is back with new powerful actors, a new history channel, and a production that surpasses anything that has happened before. While fans can keep an open mind to watch the film, then this may be the beginning of a new generation real "to the legend that is Star Trek.'s Mythos in good hands that are in process of creation of Roddenberry in this regard, while creating something new, vital and beautiful source of inspiration. Welcome again, Star Trek. We missed you.
