Battle of the Smithsonian

REVIEW â € "NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: Battle of the Smithsonian

8 out of 10

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, the sequel to 2006A € ™ s Smash, hit comedy is as good as the sequels first. Many tend to be the same movie with a bigger budget, but Smithsonian escapes this trap and has a completely different story to the Smithsonian Original. also manages to get the comedy fresh instead of retreads all the fun of the original, though some of the best bits to make it appear again, the slap fight between Stiller and the monkey comes to mind.

The editing of the film is quite simple. Stillerâ € ™ s Larry Daley has left his job as night watchman in the Museum and is now living his dream of a successful night inventor. One goes to visit his old friends at the museum, only to discover that the museum is updated and most the current sample is sent to be archived in Smithsonian. The next day, Larry received a phone call from midget cowboy, Jedediah (the always reliable Owen Wilson), who tells him that they are in trouble and the need for racing Help. Larry the Smithsonian to help their friends and fun and extravagance begins. There a lot of new characters to the audience roaring with laughter, like The Thinker, some cherubs and a giant squid, not to mention Abraham Lincoln and a brief cameo by Darth Vader. The most notable new characters are played by Amelia Earhart the talented Amy Adams, Hank Azaria's always fun as the villainous Pharaoh, Egypt, Kahmunrah (also Voices of The Thinker and Honest Abe) and member of SNL, Bill Hader as General Custer. Hader, charming in this role and my instinct tells me that will be the next star SNL movies to exit and walk on a good road trip by the likes of Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphy before him.

Director Shawn Levy does a great job keeping the breeze and entertaining film, while infusing the Smithsonian, with a sense of reverence and beauty, with wide shots to capture the magic of the many museums exhibitions wonderful. Â There is a particular sequence, when Larry and Amelia is the famous picture and the pictures that have sprung to life and really get into a black and white photo famous WW II.A Together with Smithsonian, Levy has established himself as a filmmaker sure handed dealing of comedy, action and special effects with equal aplomb.

To summarize, the Battle of the Smithsonian is a fun, original, special effects bonanza that is perfect for the whole family.
