The fabulous adventures of the ninja kid Naruto Uzumaki has been portrayed in the 220 Naruto episodes of the animation series titled Naruto.
It was originally created for TV Tokyo, the Japanese channel and was produced by Studio Pierrot. The animated series which was an on screen adaptation of the comic series of the same name in 1997 was created by Masashi Kishimoto and became popular in the US when Viz Media released it there.
The first telecast of Naruto Episodes was aired on Oct 3 2002 on TV Tokyo and continued till Feb 8 2007 and its English-dubbed series on cartoon network’s toonami was released from Sep 10 2005 onwards with cartoon network continuing to air it on the main channel even after stoppage of its toonami version, which proves the popularity of the series. Both the versions were instant hits as the handsome and fighting kid won hearts across the sea.
The story unfolds in Konohagakure, one among the 5 great Shinobi nations in the Naruto world. The village witnesses all the jaw dropping adventures of this kid. He constantly engages in one or the other adventure in an effort to grab attention and to exhibit his ninja skills to become the Hokage, the title equal to the rulers of the country. All characters of this animated series like Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno have been beautifully crafted and woven into the story.
Bionix and another channel Jetix UK also aired the Naruto episodes. The original manga had 27 volumes and the animation series had 220 episodes concocting both the raw story and some additional plotting. However the ninja kid’s fans so far have only been treated to 209 Naruto episodes. There are rumors that Viz will resume the telecast but these rumors are still to be confirmed.
It was obvious that the producers would not let die the cartoon icon which had created waves by then and so they have brought out DVDs with the Naruto episodes. Although they have been compressed, there is not much change to the episodes available in the DVDs. You can also get the season wise episodes of the series in a single DVD. The series producers have also compiled the first 135 Naruto episodes in a single DVD titled ‘Naruto The Best Scene’. The famous Naruto episodes are also available on the web. Naruto has also been immortalized in a movie version which is great news for all diehard fans of the Naruto episodes and escapades.
