The City of Angels in California has served as an important location for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards last June 5, 2011. Saturday Night Live (SNL) host and comedian Jason Sudeikis hosted the spectacular event. As expected, the show was jam-packed with different personalities from the world of entertainment. Chris Evans, Ryan Reynolds, Ashton Kutcher, Elle Fanning, and Blake Lively were few of the award presenters.
Wizards and witches of Harry Potter were seemed to be down and outperformed by the vampires and werewolves as Twilight brought home five golden popcorns including the Best Movie award. British actor Robert Pattinson and American actress Kristen Stewart took home the Best Male Performance and Best Female Performance for their movie Twilight Saga: Eclipse, respectively. Not so bad at all for all Harry Potter fans out there as your favorite Death Eater Draco Malfoy (of course he was portrayed by Tom Felton) took home the Best Villain award.
I guess the most shocking moment in the event was when Twilight hunks Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner shared a kiss when the winner of the Best Kiss award was announced. It wasn’t actually scandalous as R-Pat kissed Taylor at the cheek only. Were you shocked as well? Girls, don’t worry, Taylor and Robert are straight.
Another highlight of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards was the first official release of the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. It was full of exciting scenes including the anticipated marriage of the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Thanks a bunch 2011 MTV Movie Awards for taking us to the first sneak peak of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. I can’t wait to see it on cinemas on November 18, 2011.
