It is said that the 2000's were a period when solo action films were highly welcomed by the audiences in Kerala, but after 2005 that trend changed with coming of Rajamanickyam and Hello. Then there was all the fever of 'Multistarrers' and started on with the evertime blockbuster Twenty 20, followed by Rafi Mecartin's China Town, Joshiy's Christian Brothers, Shaji Kailas's King And Commisioner. The latest to this category is being propsed that is already being said as the biggest project in Malayalam Cinema before the two megastars Mammootty and Mohanlal stops their Heroic roles.
It has been some time since a project titled 'Arakkallan Mukkalkallan' has been announced. To be directed by Siby K Thomas and Uday Krishna, this film was expected to bring the two titans of Malayalam cinema – Mammootty and Mohanlal – together on screen again.
Sibi K Thomas and Udayakrishna has written scripts mainly for the potboiler movies such as Karyasthan that was directed by Johny Antony and starring dileep, Twenty 20 directed by Joshiy, Pokkiri Raja that was directed by the debutant director Vaishak who later made another magahit film in 'Seniors', Christian Brothers that was again directed by Joshiy. The list contains many more movies that comes under the potboiler category.
Also the script writers were expected to make their directorial debut through the film.
However, Siby K Thomas and Uday Krishna have remained busy with several other projects, and their dream project has been stalled for quite a while now.
Its now learned that the shooting of 'Arakkallan Mukkalkallan' would start shortly, after the shooting of 'My Name is Avarachan', that has been scripted by the Siby-Uday team and directed by Jose Thomas and starring Dileep.
It should be remembered that Dileep would also be playing a major role in the film. 'Arakkallan Mukkalkallan' would be produced by Mammootty under the banner of Playhouse.
